Department Overview

The Social Work department provides emotional support and counseling to children and their families. They provide crisis intervention services, help with adjustment issues, grief and loss counseling, mental health assessments, case coordination, community advocate support, and short-term therapeutic interventions.

Position Summary
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and e/o Saturday 2300-0700 in MPLS
Newly increased shift differential pay

To provide clinical assessment, therapeutic intervention and resource mobilization for families and children who have complex psycho-social and emotional needs in a multi-disciplinary pediatric hospital setting. Pediatric social workers provide these services to children 0-18 years of age and their families.

Seeking a clinical social worker (LGSW or LICSW) to support critical social work coverage in the Emergency Department and campus wide overnight. Clinical social workers provide trauma informed care and work from an equity lens to provide support to patients and families facing unexpected admissions, trauma, grief/loss, end of life and basic needs. Primary responsibility to support patients and families presenting to Level One trauma center and complete crisis mental health assessments, connecting to Children's inpatient mental health unit or alternative safe discharge plan developed in partnership with care givers. Based in Minneapolis with ability to respond to Saint Paul via telehealth.

Qualifications
License/Certification/Registration required? Yes
* Minnesota State LGSW, LICSW preferred

Education:
* Master's degree in social work required.

Experience:
* Experience providing crisis intervention.
* Two years experience with counseling in a health care related setting or two years experience in a pediatric related setting or completion of graduate internship in either of the above settings.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Knowledge of community resources.
* Ability to provide good, clear documentation of work.
