Position Summary

This position leads and facilitates the trauma performance improvement program for the Minneapolis campus, which encompasses all areas and disciplines of the hospital that participate in the care of admitted injured patients. This includes coordination and facilitation of performance improvement data collection, analysis of performance improvement and registry data, trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes, and leading discussions and projects with relevant stakeholders to improve patient care and outcomes. Participates in Trauma Registry data analysis. This position works collaboratively with Trauma Services leadership and multidisciplinary teams on both campuses to improve patient care and outcomes and to meet the requirements of trauma verification. Additionally, as the trauma program manager for the St. Paul campus, they are responsible for the oversight of the trauma program in collaboration with the trauma medical director. They guide leaders and staff on the implementation of the trauma designation criteria as outlined by the Minnesota Dept of Health, and monitor compliance with this criteria, as well as patient care quality and outcomes. They are responsible for leading the campus-wide trauma designation application and site visit process as directed by the MDH designation process.

License/Certification/Registration:
*MN RN license required
*Current certification in BLS, PALS required
*Current certification in TNCC/TCRN preferred

Education:
*Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required, Master's Degree preferred.

Experience:
*At least 3 years trauma clinical experience required- pediatric trauma experience preferred.
*Experience in data analysis, project management, and performance improvement.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Excellent analytical skills including data analysis, critical thinking, and ability to effectively deliver data results in a way that speaks to non-data audiences.
*Proficient communication skills and presentation skills for a variety of audiences, including hospital administration, patient care leaders, providers, and frontline staff.
*Knowledge of trauma registry requirements, ICD-10-CM coding preferred.
*Proficiency in MS Office Suite required; knowledge of technology and software applications preferred; knowledge of technology and software applications preferred.
*Self-directed, shows initiative, and trusted to work autonomously.
*Understanding of clinical processes and patient flow within the healthcare system.
*Maintains positive working relationships and engenders trust with supervisors, employees, other stakeholders to gain cooperation and support in assigned projects.
*Strong communication skills and presentation skills for a variety of audiences.
*Requires the ability to transport self independently throughout medical facility and to off-site locations.
