Job Summary
This is an opportunity to play a central role in maintaining a primary location for the State of Minnesota. The South Minneapolis CareerForce location is a hub where we help individuals start, advance, or change their career; help employers attract, develop, and retain talent; and help Minnesota's economy thrive.
This position exists to perform both indoor and outdoor tasks necessary to maintain the South Minneapolis CareerForce location. The position will determine, prioritize, and perform general maintenance needs at the location; coordinate with others on the team to contract and manage vendors as necessary to ensure a healthy, clean, and safe environment; and lead the safety team at the location.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
To receive credit for your education and experience, your resume should clearly describe how you meet each minimum and/or preferred qualification listed, including dates of employment.
Oral and written communication skills sufficient to follow instructions, keep simple records, and communicate effectively and coordinate with vendors, customers, and staff
Ability to:
- Perform basic maintenance, janitorial/custodial, and handywork, with the use of small hand tools, power tools, and other trade equipment sufficient to perform assigned duties safely and correctly.
- Be on-call and respond to facility emergencies.
Knowledge of:
- Chemical cleaning agents sufficient to select, safely use, store, and dispose as appropriate.
- Maintenance methods, tools, and equipment sufficient to make necessary repairs safely.
- Minor mechanical, electrical, and HVAC equipment.
Basic computer skills and computer software applications, such as Microsoft Office, to retrieve and send email communications, complete necessary purchase requests, update electronic work orders and maintenance logs, and record tasks/projects documentation status.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with facility health and safety policies, procedures, and protocol.
Education and experience with and ability to perform basic maintenance and handywork in a commercial setting.
Read and understand instruction manuals, procedures, and other materials sufficient to perform basic troubleshooting and repair safely and correctly.
Mechanical and electrical skills sufficient to perform minor repairs.
